    MOZART AT ANGKOR

Concept
A Cambodian Magic Flute

In the exquisite setting of Chau Say Tevoda Temple in the heart of the archeological park of Angkor, a unique and inspirational production of Mozart’s masterpiece is being created together with Cambodia’s leading performing artist talents. The particular affinity between the Magic Flute story and the Khmer epic poem Reamker provides the catalyst for uniting artistic Asian elements from Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Vietnam with a special emphasis on Cambodia. The traditional Khmer orchestra, Apsara dancers, Bassac Theatre artists, Cambodian circus and Shadow Puppetry will feature alongside the adventures of Tamino and Papageno in this extraordinary location. In 2015 and 2016 workshops were carried out with the Cambodian performing artists.
